Change of plans
In the previous post I lied when I said the first Trizzle release would be an extension for Songbird. I'm holding off on starting work on that, mainly because the Mac OS X version of Songbird hasn't even been released yet.
In the interim, though, I built a cool tool this week for formatting an iTunes playlist for display on the web. It makes it easy to take a list of songs in iTunes and put them on, for example, a blog entry. All you have to do is copy a playlist in iTunes, then paste the resulting tab-delimited text into the PlaylistMaker form, which converts it into a pretty table with in-line css. As an added bonus, it makes the artists, songs and albums in your playlist clickable links to the music vendor of your choice-Amazon, the iTunes Music Store or Google.
You can see an example of the output it produces in the My 25 Top Singles of 2005 entry on my other blog, the Annals of Monadic Deadlock. If you want to try out the playlist formatter, go to http://trizzle.fozboot.com/playlist-enter.php
